territories and nations. The Department of Education at Hampton University, which houses the Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies,
Master of Teaching in Biology, Chemistry, English, Mathematics, and Music; Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and School Counseling,
and the Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Management, is seeking to fill an Assistant Professor level position in Education with a focus
in STEM Education, specifically Mathematics and Science, beginning Spring 2024.
Duties and
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be required to teach a variety of Education courses such as Mathematics
Methods, Science Methods, Human Growth and Development, Assessment, Technology in Education, Classroom and Behavior Management, Current
Issues in Education, Research Methods, Supervised Teaching, and other like courses. Additionally, successful candidates are expected to
advise Education majors and hold office hours. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the scholarly advancement of the
department through a productive research agenda that includes grantsmanship. Candidates should demonstrate dedication to the progress of
the Education Department, the School of Liberal Arts and Education, and to the University as a whole, through service
activities.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have and earned doctorate in Education with a focus in
STEM from an accredited university. Experience in and evidence of successful teaching in a university setting is preferred. Preference
will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in research and grantsmanship. Although there is an expectation of hiring at the
Assistant Professor rank, we will consider filling the position at a higher rank depending upon the qualifications of the applicant. Rank
and compensation are commensurate with credentials and experience.
