American Express Company seeks Directors, Risk Management to execute prospective new accounts underwriting, as well as design, build, and enhance new accounts approval and decline strategies. Evaluate and assign risk thresholds across the new accounts decision using quantitative analysis. Assess and optimize the risk-return tradeoff for prospect acquisitions. Monitor risk across the customer lifecycle relating to proprietary and co-branded credit cards improving capabilities and processes. Coordinate with product, marketing, operations, technologies, finance, and other functional teams to develop lending growth strategies that serve small business customers’ needs while minimizing credit losses.
Position requires a Master’s Degree in Finance, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Business Administration, Computational Chemistry, or a related field, and 2 years of experience with risk management and risk analysis. Experience must include a minimum of: 2 years of experience with credit risk data from credit bureaus and internal credit source, source systems, and data management processes; 2 years of experience with data processing and model development in a public cloud infrastructure, including AWS; 2 years of experience with Shell scripting and scientific computations in Linux environment; 2 years of experience with data analysis and transforming credit and risk capabilities using Big Data technologies, including Hive; 2 years of experience with data processing and management in distributed systems, including Hadoop and Spark; 2 years of experience with Base SAS, Cornerstone, Python programming, SAS Enterprise Guide, SQL, and Teradata; and 2 years of experience with linear regression, logistic regression, survival analysis, and advanced machine learning models, including kNN, and GBM techniques. Telecommuting is available up to 3 days per week.
