The Georgetown University Teacher Residency Program, part of the Educational Transformation Program at Georgetown University, is looking for a Clinical Program Success Coach to work with students in the program participating in the Georgetown GYO Scholars Program (G2YOSP). The G2YOSP serves District of Columbia paraprofessionals currently employed by public and public charter schools in the District through a one-year residency program resulting in a Master of Arts in Educational Transformation and eligibility to apply for an OSSE Teaching Credential in English as a Second Language.
The Georgetown University Teacher Residency Program (https://edtransform.georgetown.edu/learning-teaching/) is a 1-year, graduate level program designed to prepare professionals to advance equity in K-12 education across multiple domains: race, class, linguistic diversity, and among students with disabilities. We take a critical stance towards educational policies and practices and seek to develop among our students the skills to transform educational settings and contexts to promote equity. We take an explicitly anti-racist position in our program and an asset-based approach in our pedagogy; we expect all faculty to uphold and model those commitments in their teaching.
The Clinical Program Success Coach is an experienced educator responsible for partnering with existing program faculty and staff to guide the G2YOSP Scholars successfully through the program and support their induction into the field in coordination with existing program faculty and staff. The Clinical Program Success Coach role supplements the robust program structures and programming already in place for the existing Teacher Residency Program addressing needs before (recruitment), during (academic support), and after (induction mentoring). This position would be a contract position with responsibilities that increase over the course of the grant as G2YOSP alumni enter the field as teachers of record.
The Clinical Program Support Manager would primarily be responsible for:
This contract position is funded through OSSE’s Educator Preparation ‘Grow Your Own’ Grant Program and runs through September 30, 2024 with the possibility for renewal based on availability of grant funding.
