The Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op Program offers a 6-8 month opportunity designed specifically for current undergraduate students. This program requires participants to take a break from their academic studies for a semester while working at a Watlow advanced development and manufacturing site, based in site. During the co-op participants will focus on growing anddeveloping skills in design, testing, automation, manufacturing cell development, and equipment build. Participants will support strategic projects, working collaboratively with mentors, team leaders, project leaders, and fellow engineers to apply their theoretical knowledge from the classroom in a real-world setting.
Responsibilities
Design and build fixturing for product manufacturing
Conduct experiments to aid manufacturing cell design
Conduct Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility studies
Develop lean manufacturing standard work
Aid in the development of work instructions for manufacturing operators
Testing and analyzing new and existing products (heaters, sensors, controllers or software)
Building prototypes
Participating in prototype and equipment design reviews
Analyzing equipment to establish operating data
Fabrication and tooling
Wiring and building control panels
Completing reliability, experimental, & validation testing
Evaluating laboratory results
Qualifications
Currently pursuing an undergraduate bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial engineering, electrical, or similar degree.
Enrolled as a rising sophomore or above is preferred
Availability to start June 2024 or January 2025
Available to take 6-8 months off from school to work at a Watlow facility
Able to relocate to a Watlow site for the duration of your co-op/internship.
