Summary
The Economic Growth Institute (EGI), reports to the Office of the Vice President for Government Relations. EGI works to leverage the University of Michigan and other public/private resources, research, technologies, and expertise to foster innovation and equitable economic growth. EGI transforms these resources into programs that provide business and communities’ assistance, support, and intervention.
EGI is seeking a Project Intermediate Manager for its new Michigan Defense Resiliency Consortium (MDRC) Program which will create the critical foundation for energy storage and battery manufacturing to support the Department of Defense (DOD) supply chain transformation toward electrification. This position will assist the program with development and execution with projects from intake, event coordination, outreach and engagement, facilitation, and beyond. Additionally, the Project Intermediate Manager will conduct detailed evaluations of manufacturing companies and formulate wide-ranging technical assistance plans to assist these companies in entering or expanding into the defense supply chain. The Project Intermediate Manager manages projects with EGI’s extensive client and partner base and is responsible for proper fiscal and programmatic compliance. This position will also manage and mentor student graduate and undergraduate Research Associates in the development and execution of associated projects and is responsible for the overall success of program deliverables and EGI wide projects as assigned.
This position will heavily be remote based with travel across the state of Michigan as needed but will have some time required on campus in Ann Arbor (on average, one day per quarter).
Term-Limited Appointment: November 1, 2023 – August 31, 2026; with possibility of continued funding for additional years.
