Our client is currently seeking a Network Engineer III (Lifecycle Engineer)
This job will have the following responsibilities:
- You will use your experience and knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts of routing, switching, unified communications, and security technologies to create world-class network designs for your customer. You will serve as a lead technical designer and architect. In this role, you will collaborate with technical and business leaders to develop designs to execute customer strategies and create greater efficiencies.
- Implement and support solutions involving, but not limited to, WAN, LAN, Unified Communications, and Virtual (e.g., Virtualization, NFV) Data Center technologies.
- Focus on solution development and architectural design for assigned customer
- Provide technical training and support for the Managed Services Operations team.
- Analyze, evaluate, and communicate network capacity and performance data with the objective of driving improvements to the customer’s network.
- Oversee customer network documentation, such as solution design documents and network diagrams.
- Act as an escalation point, providing fourth-level incident support for customers.
- As a subject matter expert in network technologies and unified communications, address technical challenges and opportunities in your domain of expertise most of the time.
- Act as a technical SME for network architecture and unified communication by providing customer needs analysis, engineering and design technical solutions, and technical consultation to internal and external customers.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of network architecture experience in conceptualization, definition, and development of IT and/or telecom-based products and services with verifiable instances of implementing one or more of the following:
- Cisco Broadworks experience.
- Oracle SBC (1100, 3900, 4600, 6300, Virtual) experience.
- VoIP end-user device experience with the following vendors: Polycom, AudioCodes, Ribbon, Algo, Cisco, etc.
- Data Center (application hosting, managed storage) o Data and IP Services (MPLS, VoIP, PIP, VPN, IP PBX)
- Managed Network Services (LAN, WAN, Content Delivery) o TCP/IP, UDP, RTP, SIP protocol expert.
- Advanced design theory experience (overall system architecture, platform, capacity engineering, roadmap, call routing design, and demonstrated critical thinking skills).
- Collaborative nature; eager to partner with Sales, Operations, or other internal groups to foster customer-facing relationships.
- Lifecycle/Vulnerability/Software reviews.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical fields of study.
- Six or more years of experience in an Engineering Design Authority (EDA), Data Center technical design, and engineering role, with an emphasis on IP-based network and communications
- Current industry certifications: CCIE Data Center certification, Cisco BroadWorks Engineer Professional • Demonstrated and verifiable track record of prior successful customer engagements. Examples of network designs, statements of work, and/or technical project plans.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, or verbal skills to effectively work in a team environment and explain complex system solutions to customers.
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to present technical and non-technical information to broad audiences.
- Highly motivated self-starter.
- The ability to obtain a Security Clearance
