Private Label Division for apparel and fashion manufacturer and designer is looking for a strong, dynamic Associate Denim & Woven Bottoms Designer focusing on Junior, Missy, Plus and Young Men’s.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in design and product development at all stages under guidance of Senior designer: detail sketches, tech-packing, trend research and presentation booklets.
- Send out and follow up on trim and style development packages
- Coordinate samples: manage sample tracking; arrange showroom samples accordingly
- Manage sample requests from buyer and sales team & communicate clearly to overseas facilities to ensure proper sample execution
- Create & update line sheets
- Identify trend directions by doing market research and develop comprehensive knowledge of each customer & competition
- Adhere to due dates for all stages of design development
- Attend fittings to ensure all design details are executed properly
- Merchandise and style showrooms for sales presentations
- Production submittal approvals for all trims & denim washes
- Be a strong cross-functional liaison between sales, production, and overseas teams in all aspects of product development
Qualifications:
- BA degree in fashion
- 2 years of related denim experience a must
- Strong Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop & Excel skills required
- Be able to effectively manage time and multi-task, must pay strong attention to detail
- Familiarity with the development process as it relates to working with overseas and buyers/vendors
- Be able to interpret trends in relation to multiple buyers and clients
- Must be very organized & a problem solver
- Web PDM/PLM knowledge a plus but not required
