Our office, Capitol Periodontics, is seeking an Insurance Coordinator to join our busy specialty practice.
Capitol Periodontal Group is a multi-location private periodontal practice that has been providing periodontal and dental implant care throughout Northern California for over 40 years. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and energetic Dental Insurance Coordinator who thrives in a busy and fast-paced environment. Our ideal Dental Insurance Coordinator candidate will be responsible for verifying dental insurance benefits for our patients as well as updating the insurance file and coverage tables in the practice management software Dentrix. We are looking for a personable, polished, and professional individual, with exceptional time management skills. Detailed oriented and applied accuracy. Communication skills, a friendly and positive demeanor, and a passion for providing the highest level of service to patients, peers, Doctors, and all stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities:
Verify patients’ dental insurance coverage and benefits.
Communicate with insurance companies to obtain pre-authorizations for treatments.
Assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage and estimated costs.
Submit accurate and timely insurance claims electronically and via mail.
Follow up on outstanding insurance claims, appeals, and denials.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of dental insurance policies and industry changes.
Collaborate with the front desk and clinical teams to ensure accurate patient information and treatment codes.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing insurance-related inquiries and concerns.
Educate patients on available payment options for uncovered services.
As one of the essential members of our office, you will also help to facilitate/coordinate other office responsibilities as needed.
Your Background
Are you a detail-oriented and organized individual with a passion for dental care and exceptional customer service? We are currently seeking a Dental Insurance Coordinator to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring smooth insurance operations for our patients. As a vital part of our practice, you will be responsible for managing insurance claims, facilitating billing processes, and providing top-notch support to our patients regarding their insurance-related inquiries. You also have the following:
Minimum 2 years of related dental experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience as a dental insurance coordinator or in a similar role is preferred.
Knowledge of dental codes and procedures
Detail Accuracy and Periodontal or Oral Surgery knowledge preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Proficiency in dental practice management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Problem-solving skills to navigate insurance claim discrepancies and denials.
High level of professionalism and a patient-centric attitude.

Position Pay Range
$17—$23 USD
