Excellent opportunity for a dynamic Non-Invasive Cardiologist to join a growing academic division at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois. Practice in a collegial environment with reasonable call responsibilities. The division has a mix of young and experienced cardiologists of diverse backgrounds that needs additional cardiology faculty to support growth and expansion. The division is the primary site for the only ACGME accredited cardiovascular fellowship program in the region. The position requires active involvement in teaching of medical students, medical residents and cardiology fellows. Echo and nuclear board certification is desirable. Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of accredited medical school program; Graduate of formal specialty training program in Cardiology; Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine or eligibility for ABIM; Diplomate of the American Board of Cardiology Medicine or eligibility for Cardiology Board; Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Illinois or Licensed by the State of Illinois prior to employment; Experience providing services to multicultural populations; Experience dealing with underrepresented minority populations. This position has been designated as security sensitive and employment is contingent upon the results of a background investigation. This position is sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
Desired Qualifications: Experience working in an academic environment, both inpatient and outpatient settings.
