What This Position Is All About:
Saks Off 5th (SO5) is seeking a candidate to help identify, develop and integrate innovative solutions and programs to drive a culture of Continuous Improvement. We are growing our process improvement capabilities to drive long-term improvements in our store, distribution center and corporate business operations.
The Continuous Improvement team combines SO5 values and technology with the best of lean management and six sigma to achieve operations excellence. We utilize continuous improvement methodologies to engage teams to solve internal and external customer problems. The team drives operations performance and cost saving by eliminating waste, reducing manual work and identifying and implementing best practices across the business. We execute these priorities through standardization initiatives, Kaizen events, and by supporting critical programs and projects.

You Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or another related field
+5 years of retail store leadership experience
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Proficiency in utilizing available technology including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Ability to articulate their position and achieve buy in
Solid organizational and inter-personal skills with the ability to foster productive relationships at every level
Creative problem-solving ability and multi-tasking competing priorities
Strong experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
Knowledge in quality control
Knowledge of different process innovation methodologies and their practical application.
Demonstrated success in cost saving initiatives
Experience working independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners to overcome obstacles and deliver results
As the Manager, Continuous Improvement You Will:
Utilize internal performance data and customer feedback to identify opportunities to improve quality, service, and cost within the company.
Evaluate end-to-end processes, mapping task, and compiling data to make recommendations for change; utilizing IE tools (i.e. Sean Six Sigma) to identify potential cost savings and effective product flow; and working with strategic partners to align the efforts.
Perform analysis or coaching team members on the analysis required to deliver solutions (technology, infrastructure, processes)
Gather information needed for analysis; analyzing and defining requirements to improve operational process; performing assessments and identifying efficiency gaps.
Develop and execute strategies to support high volume growth.
Promote use of continues process improvement methodologies and tools (DMAIC, Kaizen, Cause and Effect Matrix, Value Stream Mapping, and Hypothesis Testing).
Identify process improvement opportunities through analyzing large data sets
Ability to build business cases and manage multiple projects and competing priorities
Communicate project goals, strategy and status within the project team and with project stakeholders, including Senior Management.
Track and quantify improvements made throughout the business
Develop, implement, and monitor continuous Improvement training initiatives.
Work remotely, ideally adjacent to a number of SO5 store locations.
Travel, up to 30% of the time as needed for site visits.
