Job Summary
The Department of Teacher Education at Purdue University Fort Wayne is excited to invite applications for a nine-month Visiting Assistant Professor position that begins in August 2024. We are seeking applicants who demonstrate instructional practices that emphasize diversity, inclusion, equity, and belonging. The successful applicant will instruct undergraduate-level courses in the social foundations of education, as well as additional education courses for preservice teachers.

The Department
The Department of Teacher Education, which is housed in the School of Education at Purdue University Fort Wayne, is committed to advancing diversity in all areas of faculty effort, including research, teaching and service/engagement, and is committed to fostering an equitable, diverse, inclusive, and socially just community. More than 500 undergraduate students are currently pursuing a major offered in Teacher Education, and 14 full-time faculty members work in the department. The Department of Teacher Education offers majors in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Middle School Generalist, and Secondary Education. Candidates should address at least one of these areas in their cover letter, indicating their past experiences, current interests or activities, and/or future goals to promote a climate that values diversity and inclusion.
