DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will assume the role of overseeing project inspections, encompassing construction and materials, for abandoned mine reclamation projects. These projects encompass various aspects such as mine subsidence, underground and refuse pile fires, acid mine drainage and water pollution abatement projects, shaft backfilling and capping projects, stream channel reconstruction, and strip mine reclamation projects. The position entails providing support to inspector supervisors and project engineers across a diverse range of projects within the purview of the Wilkes-Barre District Office. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our projects meet environmental and safety requirements, as well as maintaining positive relationships with our stakeholders and project partners.Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork hours are 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday – Friday, with 30-minute lunch.This is a field position that will cover project sites in the following Eastern PA counties: Luzerne, Lackawanna, Schuylkill, Columbia, Carbon, Monroe, Sullivan, Pike, Lehigh, Northumberland and Wyoming. You will be expected to report to the Wilkes-Barre District office on an as needed basis.Telework: You will not report into an in-office location on a regular basis. Instead, you will work from home (telework) when you are not traveling to project sites. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Two years of construction inspection experience on heavy construction projects such as dams, flood control projects, mine reclamation projects, treatment plants, hazardous waste projects, airports, highways or utility installations; orAn Associate Degree in Building Construction Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, or a closely related field; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training.Necessary Special Requirement:This position requires possession of a valid PA Class C non-commercial driver’s license.Other Requirements:You must meet the PA residency requirement.
