The Associate Director will partner with the Senior Director, Principal Gifts to manage projects and workflow for capital and principal gifts initiatives, especially as they are related to the Ragon Building , and work closely with leaders in Donor Relations, Integrated Marketing and Communications (IMC), Campaign and Leadership Initiatives, frontline fundraisers and others across the office and the hospital on related projects. This role will also work with the President’s Office, faculty, and volunteer leaders.
The ideal candidate will be a collegial, professional, and collaborative strategic thinker with superb interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of fundraising and experience with launching and managing projects while keeping multiple work streams on track and within deadlines simultaneously.

Principal Responsibilities
• Independently develop and implement project management plans for Capital and Principal Gifts priorities and goals, emphasizing consistency in strategy and analytics.
• Serve as a content matter expert for the Ragon Building and have a full understanding of the building, its case for support and available assets as well as the processes and policies related to capital fundraising.
• Staff and lead select capital prospect-facing meetings including tours, solicitations, visits, and larger meetings related to the Ragon Building.
• In partnership with the Senior Director, support and staff related volunteer leadership activities and meetings. Attend these meetings as appropriate and assist with action items and follow-up.
• Provide project management for higher-level, complex capital proposals ($5M ) often representing multiple priorities and involving the president, chiefs, and other senior leaders of the hospital and development office.
• Serve as a strategic partner in developing solicitations by understanding and presenting gift opportunities, preparing materials, supporting design and creation using Word and PowerPoint templates , and t racking workflow.
• Lead fa culty engagement strategy working directly with key faculty and Ragon building stakeholders on events, presentations and donor meetings.
• Lead development staff educational initiatives related to the Ragon Building including develop training materials and organize meetings to brief frontline and non-frontline staff on progress and priorities.
• Partner on special projects related to cultivation, solicitation and stewardship for Principal Gifts donors.
• Serve as a strategic partner in overall capital fundraising strategy including supporting fiscal year planning and special initiatives as they arise.
• Serve as the liaison for the PG and Capital teams in meetings across the office and hospital, including planning meetings, working with the Planning and Construction Office, the President’s Office, and key volunteers such as the Campaign Co-Chairs and Co-Chairs of Philanthropy.
• Support the Senior Director and department leadership in the development and implementation of applicable guidelines as appropriate.
• Collaborate with the Special Events and Donor Relations teams in the planning and execution of related events.
• Support the implementation of donor stewardship strategies for Ragon Building donors.
• Collaborate with the Donor Relations team and hospital partners in projects related to naming opportunities, including signage implementation.
• Implement and manage systems and processes for tracking, analyzing, auditing, and reporting on capital fundraising in collaboration with Information Management and senior members of the capital project team.
• Work with colleagues in Financial Operations to track, measure, and report on related expenses.
• Serve as a member of the GiftMap project team. Perform GiftMap updates as requested.
• Manage logistics of Capital and Principal Gifts meetings independently including agenda oversight, notes, and facilitating next steps.
• Draft correspondence including letters, qualification emails and proposals.
• Work with colleagues in Information Management, the VP’s office, and leadership activities to support the development, implementation and continued evolution of the presidential portfolio. Lead workstreams related to this project as requested.
• Collaborate with IMC on creating and procuring printed and branded materials.
• Other duties as assigned.This position requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 5-7 years of related experience. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of major gifts and principal gifts fundraising principles and practices, and the following skills and competencies:
