Job Summary:
Student Teaching Supervisors are needed to supervise one or more teacher
candidates throughout their student teaching experiences in the Marist College Teacher Education Department for the 2023-2024 academic
year.
Qualified candidates will be retired or part-time educators with certification in one or more of the above content areas, have
had extensive classroom teaching experience in grades 7-12, and be available during school hours for observations and teacher candidate
meetings. Supervisors will visit schools to observe and evaluate student teachers as well as mentor candidates through the edTPA. Some
virtual supervision may be required.
Supervisors should have familiarity with learning management systems and/or a willingness to
learn new instructional technology skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
Teaching certification in relevant content
grades 7-12.

About the Department/School:
The Education
Department is a member of the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences along with departments for psychology, criminal justice, and social
work. The Education Department offers a variety of teacher preparation programs including: (1) elementary education, grades 1-6, with dual
certification for students with disabilities (2) a birth through second grade teacher certification, and (3) 7 – 12 grade certification in
seven content areas (English, math, social studies, biology, chemistry, Spanish, and French) also with dual certification for students with
disabilities. The department offers a 5-year program to the elementary/students with disabilities candidates that results in an MA in
Educational Psychology. Our adolescence education program is offered only in a 5-year format, and provides graduates with the coursework to
complete certification in their content area for grades 7-12, special education certification, and as Master of Arts in Teaching.
