The University of North Alabama’s College of Education and Human Sciences invites applications for the position of tenure-track, rank open faculty in the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Leadership. Salary and rank will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s degree and experience. Appointment will be effective with the Fall 2023 semester. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position has been filled. We have two positions open that will be filled from this posting.
Essential duties for this position include: Teach undergraduate and graduate classes within the department; advise and mentor students; ability to work effectively with students and p-12 partners (administrators and classroom teachers); involvement in research activities; ability to assist with accreditation activities; participation in university and community service initiatives; active and involved leadership roles in college and university committees; and curriculum development.
Minimum qualifications include: an earned doctorate with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Psychology, Educational Technology, or a related education field is required; demonstration of success as a classroom teacher at the secondary school level with a minimum of three years of experience in the US is required; teaching experience at the college/university level is preferred; experience in or the ability to deliver online instruction is preferred; experience or interest in directing student research is preferred; ability to teach research at the graduate level is preferred; experience in supervising interns in the K-12 setting is preferred; and a background in STEM teaching is preferred.
