9-Month Tenure-Track Position
The CAEP accredited School
of Education at Louisiana State University at Alexandria (LSUA) seeks applications for Assistant/Associate Professor of
Education. Applicants should be strongly committed to excellence in teaching and advising, and to working in an environment that
fosters diversity. They should also have an ability to use technology effectively in teaching and learning, the ability to work
collaboratively, evidence of scholarly activity, and a commitment to public higher education.
The School of Education at Louisiana
State University at Alexandria invites applicants for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. The school seeks an
outstanding faculty member who will contribute to undergraduate programs focusing on pedagogy and curriculum, with an emphasis in literacy
in all content areas. The school offers literacy-focused courses and field experiences for the undergraduate early childhood, elementary,
and secondary teacher preparation programs. The appointment will begin August 2024.

Required Qualifications
· Master’s degree in their teaching field from an
accredited institution including 18 graduate hours in the field of their teaching assignments.
· Demonstrated scholarly
expertise in development, learning, and teaching
· Minimum of three years of teaching experience in K-12 settings
· Demonstrated experience with diverse student populations
· Qualified to teach reading and related methods
courses
· Evidence of collaboration with local school systems, community agencies, and other professionals
·
Evidence of the application of technology
· Experience with data-driven instructional decision making
· Evidence
of scholarly activities
Preferred Qualifications
· Earned doctorate with emphasis in literacy, or a
closely related field, from an accredited university
· Experience with the delivery of instruction at the university level in
online environments
· University teaching experience
Duties and Responsibilities
· Teach
a variety of undergraduate education courses including evaluation of candidate observation in field work.
· Actively write for
the accreditation process and contribute to the collection and analysis of assessment and accreditation data for the enhancement of the
department/programs.
· Collaborate with public and private schools, as well as college faculty for the advancement of
education initiatives.
· Continue professional development in the discipline via professional organization membership and
research.
· Participate in faculty governance, committees, and other events/organizations on campus.
· Create an
engaging learning environment that encourages student involvement and participation.
· Participate in retention and
recruitment of prospective students.
· Perform other responsibilities requested by administration.
