Primary Responsibilities:

The Freight Audit Claim Analyst is responsible for auditing the freight charges from shipments inbound in KeHE distribution centers. The Freight Audit Claim Analyst ensures compliance and maintenance with freight carriers contracted rates; this responsibility also includes identifying and recouping overcharges from the carriers and maintaining communication with KeHE’s freight payment provider. In addition, the Freight Audit Claim Analyst shall process and report all activities associated with the accumulation, filling, and resolution of cargo claims and OS&D reporting for KeHE’s network of distribution centers. This includes the management and utilization of the cargo claims database and Oak systems for administrative purposes, reporting and cost control. In addition, the incumbent will perform basic load planning back fill as needed and department reporting as described by the inbound transportation management team.

Essential Functions:

DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Act as a liaison between freight carriers and Audit/Payment Service Provider
• Conduct audit review of freight bills
• Address freight overcharges with the freight carriers and request credit
• Generate audit-related reports, including regular reporting and ad-hoc reporting requests.
• Correct invoicing errors and report on audit results.
• Collect, file and process all activities associated with KeHE (Oak) freight OS&D cargo claims.
• Analyze the activity of the U.S. Business’ $250-500M open freight claims from inception to final collection.
• Assist in the establishment and on-going maintenance of the business’ targets and KPI’s involving cargo claims and OS&D.
• Process the organization’s warehouse over and short, freight checks and correspondence back to Accounts Receivable for reconciliation.
• Create and maintain performance reports for all logistics service providers involved with cargo claim and OS&D activity. 
• Investigate shipment exceptions, collating data requisite to the filing of claims and monitor the process in accordance with the rules, regulations, and existing precedents.  
• Interface with Customer Service area with regard to freight loss and damage related deductions.
• Operate in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations that impact cargo claims activity.
• Maintaining carrier contract rates between internal KeHE systems along with third party payment and transportation platforms.
• Ad-hoc reporting to support rate and carrier network analysis projects.
• Support in providing freight pricing for potential new business developments.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude:

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office. (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Prior TMS, US Bank Syncada, IBM Cognos experience.
• Ability to synthesize data to understand business and market trends to increase revenue and efficiency. 
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, accurate with details and a demonstrated ability to communicate cross-functional teams and with external partners.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree, with preference in Business Administration, Finance, and/or Supply Chain Management.
• Must have Freight Industry/Trucking Knowledge and/or Experience.
• 2+ Years’ experience in Transportation & Freight Cost Management, Logistics, Supply Chain and/or Operations processes and systems or accounts payable preferred.
