JOB TITLE: Director of Market Development

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
The Director of Market Development (DMD) is responsible for acquiring new clients and generating new revenue by identifying, engaging and closing pipeline opportunities assigned by sales leadership. The opportunities may exist inside or outside of local studio geographies. The DMD nurtures relationships with these clients and provides leadership and assistance in transitioning them into local studio teams once the client is acquired. DMDs may also be responsible for developing new sales territories, developing key strategic partnerships, identifying and/or developing new business opportunities and expanding the presence of the company’s brand in the market.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

New Client Acquisition & Transition

• Developing and working a select set of pipeline opportunities to deliver targeted new client revenue annually.
• Cooperating with sales leadership in determining pipeline opportunities in need of particular attention and remediation.
• Working with local studio teams in transitioning clients into studio relationship management after their first year.

Developing & Expanding Strategic Opportunities

• Developing and working a select set of strategic partnerships in the development of new channels to market.
• Creating business development strategies; identifying roadblocks and driving new business through third party “influencers” such as the A&D and facility planning communities.
• Working with sales leadership in researching, locating, defining and targeting key business growth prospects
• Opening New Markets
• Identifying, developing and overseeing new strategic sales territories as determined by the company’s strategic plan and in cooperation with sales leadership
• Identifying potential sales talent inside of new territories
• Identifying competitive realities, buying methods and/or contracts, preferred manufacturers, and key influencers in new territories

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred.
• Regional Sales Management experience preferred
• Management or leadership experience
• Training experience
• Excellent customer service focus
• Excellent time management skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
