Position Description
You will play a pivotal role in our Amazon Data Centre Technician training program, providing essential support to a class of approximately 25-30 learners. Your commitment will span a duration of fourteen (14) weeks, and you will be responsible for both synchronous and asynchronous support to ensure the comprehensive understanding and progress of our fellows. This is a fully remote position.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Program Onboarding (January 4-12, 2024):
Participate in live onboarding sessions to familiarize yourself with program elements and systems.
Engage in training to prepare for effective teaching and learner support.
Mandatory Onboarding
Attend a mandatory onboarding session on Tuesday, January 9, from 12-2PM ET.
Management and Support (During Program, January 16 – May 2, 2024):
Introduce yourself to learners during program launch.
Attend all scheduled classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12-2:30pm ET.
Participate in TA Weekly Meetings (1 hour per week).
Offer up to 6 hours of individual office hour sessions for learners each week, within our specified parameters.
Assist in grading fellow’s deliverables.
Collaborate with fellow instructors/TAs and our team to enhance the learner experience (Note: you will be paired with a fellow TA to support a cohort of learners).
Qualifications
Experience working in physical data centers or similar environments.
Previous mentoring or supervisory experience is preferred, though prior teaching experience is not mandatory.
A strong desire to support students in transitioning their careers into data roles.
Demonstrated qualities of empathy, flexibility, patience, and a passion for working with diverse learners who are new to the content.
An A+ or Network+ certification is considered an asset.
Location:
This is a remote position, and you can work from anywhere compatible with the EST time zone. Our headquarters are in New York City, with office space in Midtown Manhattan.
