University Supervisors for Teaching Interns – 2023-2024 Academic Year
The George Mason University College of Education and Human Development (CEHD), invites applications from highly qualified individuals across all teaching licensure areas to supervise teacher candidates completing internships as part of Mason’s licensure programs beginning Fall 2023. Mason is seeking individuals with licensed teaching experience in the areas of early childhood, special education, elementary, secondary, English as a second language, foreign languages, and health and physical education.

About the Position:
University Supervisors have knowledge of evidence-based practices to be used in content specific classrooms and provide performance feedback and coaching, professional expertise, and resources to teacher candidates. They also collaboratively assess teacher candidate performance in the classroom. University Supervisors will be hired each semester on an as-needed basis and on a per-candidate/credit hour basis.
Required Qualifications:
University Supervisors must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in education or educational administration and have teacher certification in the subject area of supervision. Additionally, a minimum of 10 years of instructional experience in the subject area of supervision is required; note that teaching experience may be combined with administrative experience to meet requirement. University Supervisors must have availability during the school day to conduct in-person observations and evaluations in classrooms across Northern Virginia school districts. University Supervisors should have familiarity with Blackboard, VIA, or similar educational technology.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
