Summary of Job Duties:
The ATC Director of
Novice Teacher Coaching is an integral member of the Arkansas Teacher Corps’ award-winning coaching team and a leader in developing ATC’s
novice teacher coaches to best support ATC fellows in growing as professional educators who can facilitate excellent, equitable education
every day. From summer mentorship to school-year coaching, the Director will ensure that ATC fellows receive the ongoing, individualized
support they need to be successful while also cultivating a teacher-leadership pipeline for the development of future coaches.
The
Director will collaborate with the ATC team to: (1) Plan and execute the seven-week Summer Institute, including coordinating all parts of
ATC’s summer mentoring program; hiring, training, and managing a team of summer mentors; building an #ATCfamily community and creating a
culture of continuous learning, brave vulnerability, collective responsibility, and leadership for equity; setting high programmatic
expectations and maintaining fellow accountability in the areas of attendance, performance, and conduct; and ensuring all ATC fellows
receive consistent feedback and individualized support to achieve ATC’s summer institute outcomes; (2) support, monitor, and evaluate the
ATC coaching program, including coaching fellows if needed; supporting struggling Fellows through targeted support plans and differentiated
interventions; assisting with the development of teacher coaches; ensuring regular evaluations of ATC Fellows; supporting collection of
program evaluation materials; and maintaining frequent communication with ATC staff regarding Fellows’ progress; (3) partner with school
districts in supporting ATC fellows as novice teachers in their schools, including collaborating with ATC fellows’ mentor teachers to ensure
consistent support; coordinating with ATC fellows’ buddy teachers to conduct program evaluations; assisting coaches in communicating with
ATC fellows’ building leaders or advocating for fellows as needed; and soliciting feedback from school partners on ATC’s coaching program.
Additional responsibilities will include maintaining comprehensive and accurate records; assisting with the planning, facilitation,
and execution of professional development events; assisting with the recruitment and selection of ATC fellows; and supporting ATC Fellows in
meeting all requirements for a provisional license by the end of their first year and a standard teaching license by the end of the
three-year fellowship.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential function of this job, as is the ability to
create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
The Director must be able and willing to travel across
the state by automobile and be available to work some nights and weekends. The Director must also be available for the seven-week Summer
Institute for incoming Fellows which will require them to live and work on-site during portions of the summer
training.

satisfactory job performance.
Salary Information:
$60,000 – $75,000 (Commensurate with education and
experience)
