Franklin University has an opening for a part-time adjunct faculty member in our School of Education. The initial assignment will be to
serve as a Clinical Supervisor for students doing their student teaching beginning January 22, 2024, in Delaware County, Ohio for
Intervention Specialist: Mild to Moderate (K-12).
The adjunct faculty member will conduct a minimum of eleven meetings
including an initial meeting with the student and co-op teacher to establish ground rules, 4 student observation meetings, a midterm
evaluation meeting, 4 additional student observation meetings and then a final evaluation meeting using the School of Education’s approved
clinical assessment method. Travel to the school during the school day to conduct these meetings/observations will be expected to the extent
permitted due to COVID-19.
Other duties include:
• Completing, collecting, and submitting all required documents
for student teaching according to program deadlines;
• Conducting weekly communication with candidates in person, by phone,
through zoom meetings and/or via e-mail;
• Objectively evaluating and grading Teacher Candidates based on their classroom
performance and work submitted and fostering their confidence and efficacy in teaching
• Maintaining current knowledge of
effective supervision approaches, such as cognitive coaching, adult learning theory, and current content-specific pedagogy and instructional
practices; and,
• Communicating with Department Chair of the School of Education and staff to address student questions and
concerns.
We seek someone with a Master’s degree in Education with 5 or more years of K-12 teaching experience, familiarity
with OTES, OSTP, InTASC teaching standards and prior experience in teacher mentorship within Ohio.
Experience with assessment
programs in an academic setting, prior field supervision experience and a Current/Active Ohio Teaching license are preferred.
