Job Brief
At Heathrow we are looking for a full-time star HR Business Partner to be part of a high performing HR team where our dnata colleagues are at the heart of our people strategy and we are proud and passionate about attracting, developing and retaining brilliant dnata teams! This is a fast paced and high-volume food production business – a fantastic opportunity to broaden your experience and exposure as a senior HR leader and get hands on with your operational teams, walk the floor and really get to grips with our business.
We need you to be able to do the following:
• Partner with the Heathrow Operations Director to provide a strategic view and provide practical management direction on all HR and people management issues.
• Implement the dnata annual HR strategy/people plan.
• Ensure effective governance and delivery of people policies and programmes.
• Provide sound advice, coaching and support to ensure that managers can effectively manage their teams.
• Manage key people management change programmes and ensure that business cases are completed.
• Understand people performance in the region as well as potential gaps, partnering with HQ on development offerings as well as our own function for a collaborative approach to training and development that improves overall business performance and meets legal obligations.
• Succession planning and supporting the future development of leaders.
• Help make tomorrow a better place and live our dnata values – ensuring these are embedded into our everyday working lives.
• Proactively manage trade union relationships and the agreements in place i.e. pay negotiations and facilitate consultation forums where applicable – we’re all about positivity and working with our unions.

• Where applicable support with new business propositions:
– Due Diligence
– Analysis of people data
– Risk assessment i.e. pension, specific terms, financial
– Link in with the sales team where applicable on any required people proposition.
– Link in with other HR specialists where required i.e. business cases, specific models.
– Partner on the mobilization/TUPE plan to ensure there is a positive employee experience.
– Business efficiencies/improvement
• Demobilisation – ensuring colleagues have a positive experience when transferring out of the business and understanding how this impacts the wider operational team – our reputation and brand are everything to us
• Provide reward support i.e. pay award discussions.
• Provide interview and selection support at management level, including involvement in assessment centres – linking in with the recruitment function where applicable.
• Support the business in org design and development including the re-benchmarking of roles where required.
• Actively Handle complex employee relation issues as well as supporting in early conciliations as and Employment Tribunals
• Working on projects/the people plan to build out D&I, Corporate Social Responsibility as well as all round employee wellbeing.
• Supervise and coach your HR team through cases in terms of best practice and ensure they have the tools and knowledge to successfully manage varying scenarios.
Do you have the following?
• We need a minimum of five years’ experience at management level and a proven track record of delivering great results.
• TUPE experience with the ability to plan work/your team to ensure your site is covered – this is your gig and your responsibility.
• Experience of complex cases and building strong stakeholder relationships – sometimes it’s difficult when the going gets tough so you have to be able to work under pressure, we’re always here to support though!
• We want an HRBP with the ability to think, act and lead HR at your site as well as work as part of a wider team to deliver projects that benefit the whole Catering and Retail business, we love strategy, but you have to have a hands-on approach.
• The ability to effectively communicate and influence at a senior level with good written and verbal communication skills that can be tailored to ensure effective communication at all levels.
• Our HR and Operational teams are very important to us, so you have to be able to motivate and lead a team in order to achieve great (we want better than good) results, agreed targets and develop teams and successors.
• You’ve got to be an organised and results-orientated HR professional who uses data to drive the business forward as well as having a flexible can-do attitude.
• This is a site-based role but we’d like a bit of flexibility so you can experience other parts of the business and meet colleagues at other sites.
• You’re interested in your own wellbeing and professional development as well as others and we’d want to see you continue this and build on industry knowledge.
