Position Objective

This position will manage the Construction process and team for multiple retail-store construction projects.

Functional Responsibilities

• Serves as the liaison between the Land Lord, General Contractor, Store Ops team and building department for Construction department.
• Directs and schedules general contractors through all phases of projects; tracks work schedules and reports progress to Construction Team on a regular basis.
• Conducts frequent construction site visits ensuring quality and adherence to plans and timely turnover.
• Ensures site is constructed according to design and company specifications; confirms requirements are implemented according to agreed upon deliverables.
• Provides transition assistance to the store staff and helps with the merchandising process as needed. Communicates and helps resolve issues impacting store turnover and opening.
• Conducts punch lists of assigned stores. Coordinates and follows-up on all punch list items through completion and Repair/Maintenance handoff.
• Ensures ongoing communication with Construction Team, Store Facilities and Store Operations regarding scheduling, scope of work, and any issues that arise.
• Value engineer current specifications and identify potential cost savings. Leads weekly construction meeting.
• Manages brand construction team providing direction, coaching and counseling.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction or related field preferred.
• 7+ years’ experience in retail construction project management or equivalent
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents
• Thorough knowledge of construction
• Ability to understand and prepare budgets, read and interpret documents such as construction drawings, bids and leases
• Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to travel frequently and for extended periods
• Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
• Strong organizational skills
• Motivated self-starter, able to function in a fast-paced multi-task environment
• Ability to work well in a team
