POSITION SUMMARY:
The Copywriter creates and contributes content that builds brand awareness, engages customers and drives sales. This position is responsible for adapting the voice of the brand across multiple touch points including website, in-store signage, emails and marketing materials as well as product naming and creative concept strategies. The Copywriter works closely with creative team or project team members at all levels to generate and execute concepts for all branded material. The Copywriter is expected to actively develop original solutions and create polished final deliverables whether working solo or under the guidance of a more senior creative.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:
- Collaborate with creative team members to determine the conceptual and copy direction of Calvin Klein’s branding, advertising and marketing initiatives.
- Translate creative direction and copy points from creative briefs into engaging and effective copy concepts.
- Collaborate with designers to develop creative concepts for brand initiatives.
- Work closely with creative team to ensure that the tone and style of copy are consistent with those of visuals.
- Partner with project teams to understand business objectives and audience demographics.
- Work from creative briefs and under the direction of senior creative translating concepts into effective copy.
- Maintain the studio’s high-quality standards across all deliverables.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Experience:
- 2+ years in an advertising or in-house marketing agency.
- A solid understanding of marketing and advertising principles.
- An exceptional copywriting portfolio website.
- Proven creative ability.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- An understanding of the latest trends and their role within a commercial environment.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to actively contribute to strategic brainstorming, campaign development, creative brief development and creative execution.
Education: BA in English, journalism, communications or a related field
Skills:
- Exceptional writing skills, including the ability to write in a range of voices and styles for a variety of projects with diverse audiences.
- Experience with strategic concepting, campaign development and creative execution.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working collaboratively across multiple teams.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively juggle diverse writing demands.
