JOB PURPOSE
As a Responsibility Programme Manager you will manage Burberry’s carbon and energy agenda including managing Burberry’s roadmap to Climate Positive by 2040 and annual reporting of carbon and energy.
You will also be responsible for the collection, management and assurance of Burberry’s global energy and carbon data. You will also be responsible for managing or contributing to any external reporting requirements such as CDP, TCFD and RE100.
In terms of external stakeholders, you will be responsible for engaging with key industry working groups including those of the Fashion Pact and the Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action (UNFCCC). You also work with external stakeholders, including consultancies and NGOs, on the delivery of climate-related work and projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage and collate sustainability data across energy and carbon emissions and lead on annual assurance process for Scopes 1-3
• Manage the procurement of annual global renewable electricity volumes and company carbon offsets
• Develop methodology and tools for measuring, monitoring and reporting annual Scope 3 emissions
• Oversee development of Climate Positive and Net Zero by 2040 roadmap including continuing to build internal roadmaps and targets for Scope 3 across key business areas
• Support the administration of the Burberry Regeneration Fund, scoping new projects and managing reporting and partnership development
• Develop and maintain Burberry’s annual events footprint and carbon neutral certification process
• Support with the data management and modelling required for Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and CDP Climate Change reporting and RE100 reporting
• Engage with external stakeholders through key industry working groups including those of the Fashion Pact and Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action (UNFCCC)
• Manage and develop supplier engagement programmes and external partnerships
PERSONAL PROFILE
• Degree in the relevant subject area e.g. Environment, Sustainability
• Strong project management and analytical skills
• Excellent stakeholder engagement capabilities
• Strong skillset in PowerPoint presentations, preparing briefing documents and managing databases and spreadsheets
• Excellent communication skills and experience of working across different business and supply functions
• Creativity, ability to continuously innovate
• Highly organised and efficient at priortising work with a diligent and detail oriented approach
• Open to collaboration and working within a highly engaged team
