PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS POSITION WILL BE EMPLOYED BY THE SPACE COAST TRANSPORTATION PLANNING ORGANIZATION.
$1,846.15 to $2,307.69 biweekly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and may include occasional evenings as needed. The ideal candidate will have a helpful attitude, possess great communication and writing skills, is self-directed, and enjoys taking ownership of tasks. Performs skilled professional work, providing both general office work and administrative assistance to the Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization (SCTPO) Governing Board and its Committees. Work involves preparing written communications and other documents in a timely manner using good grammar, spelling, and punctuation; maintaining complete and accurate written and electronic records; organizing meetings, including scheduling, reminders, and transmittal of agenda packages; transcribing meeting minutes; answering phones, welcoming visitors, and interacting with the general public; and maintaining office supplies and other necessary materials and equipment. Work also includes minor accounting duties, including processing vendor payments and payroll and coordinating travel reservations and reimbursements. Work requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration, or related field PLUS two (2) years of general clerical and/or secretarial work that includes experience with word processing software. Must have a minimum of one (1) year taking and transcribing meeting minutes for any type of formal board, group, or association and experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, and other similar software. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver’s license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain within six (6) months of employment, an active Florida Notary Public certification and maintain said certification during the term of employment. Must be able to multi-task and organize and prioritize work and be able to work under the pressure of deadlines. Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally while speaking on the phone and in person.
