Job Summary(See the Job Description for a comprehensive list of duties):
To maintain the Quality Assurance program for the Company that conforms to the Company’s Sales, Marketing, Grow out, Processing and regulatory needs.
The Flock Advisor performs as a liaison between the Bell & Evans broiler grower and Bell & Evans. The Flock Advisor is an educator, support and resource to the grower, ensuring the success of the grower and the flocks in their care, while adhering to agree upon growth and performance goals established within live production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain good communication with contracted growers, providing feedback on performance and ensuring adherence to all certification requirements; and maintaining a two-way line of communication with the grower and the company.
Maintain good communication with the Broiler Manager, Senior Flock Technician and Compliance Manager as this is a team approach and various tasks require collaboration with the team.
Manage agreed upon budgets for feed and weight performance and mortality, in addition to providing open feedback and solutions to budget variance.
Farm visits will be conducted during the weeks of flock placement, on a weekly or bi-weekly basis and mandatory flock review with grower at settlement. Using this time to develop working relationship with grower, assess for opportunities and educate as needed.
Collecting flock specimens as needed to assist on diagnosis and treatment and/or preventative measures.
Maintain all animal welfare, safety and Biosecurity practices on all farms.
Other duties as assigned by Broiler Manager.
Required Qualifications(Due to the high volume of applicants, only those who meet the minimum qualifications will be selected for interviews):
Ability to quickly adapt to ongoing continuous improvement changes.
Effective communicator.
Bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science, or a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
One to two years of experience in poultry production preferred.
Must have current driver’s license.
Must acquire and maintain an up to date Poultry Technician Certificate through the State of Pennsylvania.
Must have vehicle meeting vehicle policy standards of Bell & Evans and appropriate for job duties.
