About the Role – Unclaimed Property Consultant

What you will do:
Client data organization and document management
Review client records (e.g., accounting documents, procedures, etc.) to identify areas of potential unclaimed property noncompliance
Conduct interviews of clients’ accounting and departmental personnel
Identify clients’ potential unclaimed property exposure
Developing strategic plans to limit clients’ potential exposure
Presenting suggestions to clients to reduce potential exposure
Creating models by employing methodologies to calculate potential exposure
Assist with the management of clients’ state unclaimed property audits
Aid in drafting technical written memorandums
Interact with clients, outside legal counsel, and state unclaimed property representatives
Assist with analysis of clients’ unclaimed property policies and procedures
Prepare and file annual unclaimed property reports to all US jurisdictions
Learn and grow from direct on the job coaching and mentoring along with participating in firm wide learning and development programs
Utilize your entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with clients
Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy, helping associates meet their professional goals

Qualifications:
Successful candidates will have:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related degree in Business; MBA grads, CPAs, and JDs encouraged to apply
1+ year(s) experience as a client serving professional for a consulting firm desired
Demonstrated skills in the areas of time management, communication, interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration, and problem solving
Organizational and analytical skills, initiative, adaptability
Microsoft Suite skills
