Founded in 1876, the Appalachian Mountain Club (www.outdoors.org) is the oldest conservation and recreation organization in the United States. The AMC mission is to foster the protection, enjoyment and understanding of the outdoors, with a focus on the mountains, forests, rivers and trails from Washington, DC to Maine. The AMC encourages the involvement of all people in its mission and activities, through its membership, programs, policies, and procedures.
The Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) seeks a qualified and enthusiastic Cook for our Pinkham Notch Visitor Center (PNVC) in the White Mountain National Forest. This full-time opportunity is responsible for the preparation and delivery of meals – including breakfast, lunch, dinner and supporting the snack bar/deli – where 95% of the food is made from scratch. We strive for happy visitors and guests, and great food is a big part of the equation! Pinkham Notch Visitor Center serves hearty mountain fare in family style and buffet settings at our 108 seat dining room. Our kitchen primarily serves our lodge guests but also serves meals to the many outdoor enthusiasts, tourists and locals that pass through our doors. We operate year-round with the summer season being our busiest averaging 80 guests a night from July through August.
