This position performs various duties throughout the work area to facilitate the expedient movement of goods. Duties will be varied.
Essential Responsibilities:

1.The Material Expediter executes the following: locates and moves materials and parts between work areas of plant to expedite processing of goods, according to predetermined schedules and priorities, and keeps related record, reviews production schedules inventory reports, and work orders to determine types, quantities, and availability of required material and priorities of customer orders, confers with department supervisors to determine materials overdue and to inform them of location, availability, and condition of materials, locates and moves materials to specified production areas, using cart or hand truck, and records quantity and type of materials distributed and on hand.
2.Work may include the following task: directing power truck operators or material handling laborer to expedite movement of materials between storage and production areas, compare work ticket specifications with materials at workstations to verify appropriateness of material in use, prepare worker production records and timecards, and may update and maintain inventory records, using computer terminal.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Knowledge in specialized handling and storage procedures of hazardous materials as required by regulation and safety requirements. A High school diploma or GED is required as well as specific training and thorough knowledge in warehouse operations plus a working knowledge of warehouse related computer software. Good written and spoken communication and analytical skills. A minimum of 3 years of job-related, documented, verifiable experience is desired.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Typical shop environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Will work inside and outside in various weather extremes. Constant bending, stooping, lifting, reaching and carrying while standing and sitting.
