The IS Applications Analyst oversees the design, implementation and maintenance of departmental and enterprise-wide systems for Fauquier Health. Through a project management approach, this role is responsible for analyzing, supporting, testing, implementing and evaluating new applications as well as performing upgrades to existing applications to include thorough documentation. The Analyst works with interfaces, databases, recommends workflow improvements, resolves systems issues, manages vendor relations and trains staff as necessary, and recommends best practices.
In the execution of job duties, it is the universal expectation that all tasks are performed with a patient centered focus, while also seeking opportunities to continually improve core processes. Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need, which may include but is not limited to: holidays, extended shifts, night and/or weekend shifts, standby and/or on-call. Reports to: Manager, Software Systems
Essential Functions
Planning: Identifies and documents scope, business requirements, tasks, schedules, costs, risks, deliverables and staffing needs. Establishes stakeholder accountability. Creates project plan and communication plan documents. Establishes project schedule.
Executing: Designs, develops, tests, and implements system. Coordinates people and resources needed to accomplish tasks. Conducts project status meetings and effectively communicates with stakeholders.
Controlling: Constant monitoring of quality, risks, project schedule, and project tasks. Compares actual performance against project plan. Ensures that project is within scope, on time and on budget and makes adjustments as needed.
Closing: System acceptance by end users and transfer to support. Archives final project plan.
Communicates critical, ongoing, and repetitive system issues to team and leadership and seeks assistance/feedback when needed.
Acknowledges trouble tickets within established SLA’s. Ensures trouble tickets are updated to include current status and resolution. Effectively communicates issue status updates and resolution with customer.
Conducts process improvement analysis, design and development on systems, procedures and workflow to ensure optimum efficiencies and utilization.
Works with vendors to resolve system issues in a timely manner. Updates vendor tickets as needed. Escalates vendor tickets as appropriate.
Performs routine maintenance on assigned systems. Manages software upgrades to include building, testing and training users on new enhancements. Monitors and maintains licensing and support agreements as appropriate. Consistently monitors assigned applications to ensure software availability and efficiency to end users.
Trains new users in basic functionality of assigned systems. Develops and maintains training materials as needed. Conducts ongoing training as needed to enhance customer skills with software.

Clinical Analyst: Associates Degree in IS or healthcare-related field or equivalent healthcare-related experience.
Non-clinical Analyst: Associates Degree in IS or business or equivalent work experience.
Preferred: Clinical Analyst: Bachelor’s degree in IS or healthcare related field.
Non-clinical Analyst: Bachelor’s degree in IS or Business.
Minimum Work Experience
Required:
Clinical Analyst: 3 to 5 years previous clinical IT applications support/implementation experience or equivalent clinical experience.
Non-clinical Analyst: 3 – 5 years previous financial IT applications support/implementation experience or equivalent experience.
Preferred: 3-5 Years previous healthcare-related applications support/implementation experience.
