Job Summary:
The software applications, platforms and tools are critical for the growth and continuous value delivery in the Verra Mobility CS business. The Director Software Development will be responsible for multiple software development teams for creating software applications/solutions such as web applications and web services, mobile apps, public and private APIs, domain logic and rules, data integration & transforms and databases. The strategic leadership role will be responsible to apply the best software engineering practices with SEI TSP/PSP, CMMI and Lean Agile principles throughout Software Solution/Application life cycle. The best in-class software platforming and engineering efforts will be in-close collaboration with Solution Architects and Total Quality Mgmt.

Responsibilities:
· Strategic leadership: Work closely with the senior leadership team to define the technology roadmap and platform strategy that delivers on the company vision and Connected Fleet strategy.
· Lead implementation and deployment of a portfolio of product/applications for Connected Fleet Solutions in partnership with product management, customer success, total quality management, product security, and operations and deliver on company goals and objectives.
· Manage multiple SW development teams and technical leaders responsible with designing, developing, and installing software solutions for Connected Fleet Applications
· Standardize SW engineering process and procedure and lead teams and cross functional relationships to foster higher productivity, velocity, and transparent communication.
· Lead and support evolution the product platforms by introducing and utilizing the latest/progressive cloud, SaaS, mobile, analytics/AI technologies and tools in support of a diverse and evolving product suite.
· Lead emphasis on Operational feasibility, Usability, Availability, Reliability and Serviceability with critical thinking, detail analysis and proactive/preventive measures
· Support a culture of continuous improvement, quality, and innovation; maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies, work with team to continually assess impact of new technologies to help deliver on strategic business needs.
· Focus on mentoring and training of the software developers and retaining the critical talent
· Recruiting for top talent and engagements and partnership with vendors to scale our engineering efforts while adding to our winning culture with Verra Mobility Core Values
· Protect operations by keeping information confidentiality
· As a part of engineering and technology teams, will be vigilant to support the positive compliant cybersecurity company posture by familiarizing with all policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines and act accordingly. This position is expected to exert the utmost care, due diligence, and ensure the proper compliance for all computer, server, and cloud systems. This position is trusted to ensure proper protections for all sensitive information created, stored, transmitted, and
otherwise processed by supporting barriers deterring unauthorized access, recognizing, and reporting problems that are uncharacteristic of business activity and known and as-yet unrecognized vulnerabilities and risks in hardware and software.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (Computer science, Computer engineering information tech/systems, etc.)
· At least 12 years of SW development experience in Connected Data Processing systems and applications, location-based services, Fintech solutions, Automobile fleet services and solutions
· Minimum of 8 years in a leadership position
· Leadership experience in SW Platform transformation with mix of legacy and contemporary technologies, breakthrough’ product development to scale the enterprise growth will be Plus!
· Experience working with development technologies such as .Net, C#, SQL, React, Angular, Node, REST, GraphQL, JavaScript/HTML/CSS, Git, MS Azure or AWS, Kubernetes, OpenShift
· Proficiency in building and supporting .NET applications and API’s,
· Proficiency in Database Architecture, Data Processing, BI and Analytics
· Experience and knowledge of Software engineering, Comp Science/IT concepts, modern software architectures and development principles
· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with internal stakeholders and team members
· Excellent organizational and team building skills
· Situational awareness and instincts in determining best Lean Agile techniques for various situations and continuous improvements
· High energy, self-motivated, and hands-on management style
· Ability to work with all levels of the organization to drive performance
