UNM IT and The College of Arts and Sciences is
seeking an IT professional with a Unix/Linux background to provide technical
support for our research. The incumbent will work to address hardware and
software tickets submitted from users, as well as work directly with research
faculty to understand their needs, propose technical solutions, and provide
support on those solutions.
These solutions may include the setting up of Linux
Virtual Machines, creating and managing Linux images and installations
packages, managing profiles and security settings, along with providing
troubleshooting support for these devices. This position will also be part of a
larger team of technical analysts that provide day to day technical support for
Windows and Apple systems, and will be expected to provide similar
support.
Bachelor’s degree; at least 1 year of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis.
