The University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Information Technology team is seeking a highly motivated Systems’ Administrator (Network/Systems Analyst 3) to provide systems support and management of locally hosted UCS/Nutanix/ VMware/Servers/Backup/Storage services and performance monitoring services. The Systems team is responsible for building and managing VMware servers, backups, storage and services as well as the upgrading, patching, and overall maintenance of the environment. The successful applicant will have experience in day-to-day hardware, OS, and application maintenance as well as project management, analysis, and troubleshooting experience. Good communication skills, customer service focused, and a strong understanding of IT systems management best practices are required.
1. Participate in an on-call rotation to support the Comprehensive Cancer Center’s infrastructure hardware, software, and locally hosted applications.
2. Create and maintain in depth, detailed, documentation of information architectures, applications and processes.
3. Lead end-to-end troubleshooting of applications, operating systems and hardware infrastructure.
4. Utilize project management skills in the planning and implementation of infrastructure hardware/software and application solutions.
5. Work collaboratively with other IT groups to identify, diagnose and repair performance issues thereby ensuring quality services.
6. Assist other IT team members on various projects and tasks.
7. Support and perform defined tasks in a VMware virtual environment.
8. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
The University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center is the Official Cancer Center of New Mexico and the only National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center in a 500-mile radius. Its 146 board-certified oncology specialty physicians include cancer surgeons in every specialty (abdominal, thoracic, bone and soft tissue, neurosurgery, genitourinary, gynecology, and head and neck cancers), adult and pediatric hematologists/medical oncologists, gynecologic oncologists, and radiation oncologists. They, along with more than 600 other cancer healthcare professionals (nurses, pharmacists, nutritionists, navigators, psychologists and social workers), provide treatment to 65% of New Mexico’s cancer patients from all across the state and partner with community health systems statewide to provide cancer care closer to home. They treated 13,578 patients in 105,748 ambulatory clinic visits in addition to in-patient hospitalizations at UNM Hospital. A total of 1361 patients participated in cancer clinical trials, including 544 (40%) patients who participated in clinical trials testing new cancer treatments that include tests of novel cancer prevention strategies and cancer genome sequencing. The more than 102 cancer research scientists affiliated with the UNMCCC were awarded $36.2 million in federal and private grants and contracts for cancer research projects. Since 2015, they have published 930 manuscripts, and promoting economic development, they filed 136 new patents and launched 10 new biotechnology start-up companies. Finally, the physicians, scientists and staff have provided education and training experiences to more than 530 high school, undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral fellowship students in cancer research and cancer health care delivery. * 2 plus years of experience in Healthcare IT
* 2 plus years of experience in an enterprise IT environment
* 1 plus years of experience implementing virtualization solutions using VMware vSphere with clustered storage
* Technologies: Windows Server 2012 – 2019, VMware vCenter 7.0, Nutanix Prism, Cisco
* UCS, Nutanix, Veeam Back Up and Replication
* VCP certification
