This individual will be responsible for working with a diverse team of clinical investigators and research staff to coordinate currently active research studies. Primary duties include research study subject enrollment including data and research specimen collection, supervision of student employees in screening and data entry and data quality assurance tasks, planning and execute study promotional activities to keep clinical staff informed about active research studies. Additional responsibilities include site investigative file maintenance, reporting of protocol of safety information to the institutional review board (IRB) as needed and regular communication with the research team and clinical trial sponsors and their representatives.
This position requires applicants to work in the emergency department. Thus applicants must be able to collect and prepare data and research specimens in accordance with protocols, maintain regulatory binders, and supervise the process of data entry and quality assurance. This position may require scheduled evening and weekend work hours in order to meet enrollment demands.
Bachelor’s degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
-Completion of Human Research Protections (HRP) Training and Good Clinical Practices curriculum or program
-Research experience including use of data collection software (REDCap, OpenClinica, etc.) and preparation of submission for IRB review and approval
-Medical experience or current license (EMT, RN, etc.) or experience working with Protected Health Information (PHI)
-Very strong verbal and written communication skills
-Microsoft Office products including spreadsheets (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
-Delivering oral presentations to small groups
