Responsibilities* 4B is a surgical unit specializing in the post operative care of adult patients undergoing major reconstructive and micro vascular procedures as well as neurosurgical procedures in addition to caring for patients with neurological conditions. The unit has 26 telemetry beds and is the home unit for Otolaryngology, Plastic Surgery, Oral Maxillofacial, Neurosurgical and Neurology services. The nurse in this role provides excellent supportive direct care to meet the physical, nutritional, emotional, psychosocial and educational needs of the patients and their families. On this unit there is an emphasis on patient and family teaching to ensure a level of comfort and confidence for self care when they are discharged to home. Required Qualifications* Current Michigan RN license for all candidates that have passed the NCLEX. **GN applicants will be considered for this position. The selected Graduate Nurse candidate will have 45 days from date of hire to successfully pass the NCLEX for Michigan RN licensure. NOTE: In order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment. Work Schedule Hours: 36 hours per week, Nights, 12 hour shifts All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
