Job Summary The University of Michigan Congenital Heart Center is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a Cardiac Procedures Nurse for the Pediatric Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Labs. This position is located at CS Mott Children’s Hospital. Diagnostic as well as interventional cardiac procedures are performed in the labs and include, but are not limited to, balloon angioplasty, transcatheter valve placements, stenting, biopsies, PICC line placements, hybrid procedures, and electrophysiology studies. Responsibilities* Primary job responsibilities consist of the diverse roles of patient prep, monitoring, circulating (catheter and equipment retrieval) and hemodynamic recording during catheterization procedures on a diverse patient population with known or suspected congenital or acquired cardiac disease. Patient population includes fetuses, infants, children, and adults. Performing conscious sedation as needed following university policies and procedures. Required Qualifications* Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Michigan. 2 years recent (within the last 18 months) PCTU experience Certification in BLS required. Certification in PALS or ACLS required. NOTE: Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. RESUME REQUIRED (for both internal & external applicants): Desired Qualifications* BSN Experience in a cardiac catheterization and/or electrophysiology lab. Experience working in a pediatric congenital heart center. Familiarity and experience with congenital heart disease. Experience in critical care medicine. Candidate must have strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills necessary to work on a multidisciplinary team in a highly collaborative environment. Candidate must be a self-motivated, highly dependable independent worker with the ability to efficiently and effectively multitask, prioritize and problem solve.
