Responsibilities* An auxiliary person who assists the nurse in providing care to patients and is under the supervision of a professional nurse. Assists in obtaining and caring for equipment. Helps maintain a safe and clean environment within the patient unit. Required Qualifications* Must currently be enrolled in a Nursing program and have completed at least one Medical/ Surgical clinical rotation or have Nurse Aide certification. Desired Qualifications* Must be able to perform a wide range of physical activities which include moving, transporting and positioning patients and equipment as well and constantly positioning self to provide patient care and related duties. Work Locations Shift: Nights Hours: Twenty hour requirement per month with one weekend shift required. Background Screening Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses. Application Deadline Temporary job openings may be removed from the job board and filled at any time. Vaccination Requirements COVID-19 vaccinations are required for all students, faculty and staff working in the following areas: Michigan Medicine including the Medical School, Dental School, University Health Service or the Mary A.
