Responsibilities* The Director of Pharmacy, Infusion and Oncology Services position at Michigan Medicine (MM) is responsible for coordinating and leading the infusion and oncology pharmacy service line within the department of pharmacy (DOP). Specifically, this role is responsible for vision, planning, strategy, and growth of pharmacy services in support of enterprise efforts to reduce cancer burden and improve patient outcomes through a tripartite mission of research, innovation, and transdisciplinary education. This position serves as a member of the senior department leadership team, the Pharmacy Executive Council (PEC), works closely with other members of the department, and partners across the enterprise to improve the overall value of care by responding to both quality and cost-based opportunities. Organizational Relationships: This role is part of a team that includes key department leaders in Community, Specialty, Oncology, Allergy, and Research Pharmacy Services. The Director serves as direct supervisor for Infusion and Oncology leaders and reports to corresponding Associate Chief Pharmacy Officer. This leader establishes and maintains key partnerships with corresponding leaders in the Department of Pharmacy as well as external leaders in the University of Michigan Medical Group (UMMG), Rogel Cancer Center (RCC), University Hospital (UH), Frankel Cardiovascular Center (CVC), and C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. Characteristics and Duties:
Required Qualifications* Education: Doctor of Pharmacy degree required – Residency (or equivalent experience) required – advanced business degree (ex. MBA, MHA, MS) preferred – Board certification in oncology (BCOP) preferred. Experience: Experienced clinical pharmacist or pharmacy leader with demonstrated contributions to oncology clinical initiatives and progressive responsibility in an academic medical center or equivalent healthcare environment.
Licensure & Certification Current license to practice as a Pharmacist in the State of Michigan Background Screening Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
