Job Summary
COVID-19 has ushered in a new era of virtual training and education. Affiliates of the UCSF Institute for Global Health Sciences (IGHS), including the Center for Global Health Delivery, Diplomacy & Economics, the Center for Health Equity in Surgery and Anesthesia, the Division of Global Health Equity in the Department of Anesthesia, and the UCSF Pandemic Initiative for Equity & Action, have rapidly transitioned to providing online learning in response to COVID-19 restrictions on travel and in-person learning. To synergize across projects and maximize outputs from expertise in learning management systems, UCSF is hiring a Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator. The LMS Administrator will provide broad management and technical expertise to coordinate and execute high-quality online course delivery across multiple LMSs to a global community of learners. Content areas include respiratory care, HIV, and COVID-19.
The LMS Administrator will:
* Maintain operational performance of a Learning Management System on a daily basis and establish a connection between the technical support (e.g. SaaS hosting partner) and the program/training managers
* Provide daily support as well as keeping the ongoing operations of an SaaS LMS stable, including defining user roles, creating e-learning courses, building custom certification, and providing feedback to learners/instructors on access issues
* Oversee accuracy of postings, making sure that only the appropriate and relevant e-learning content is published
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. program managers, training manager, instructional designers and e-learning content developer), including actively participate in the process of information exchange, developing and implementing for content review and quality assurance and advising on the implementation of best learning practices as it relates to structure and organization of content on the LMS
* Collaborate with project/training managers to identify the business needs related to training delivery and finding the most efficient and the most effective way for the LMS to satisfy those needs
* Create internal training and courses for relevant staff within the organization relating to best practices of deploying e-learning on the LMS
* Keeping track of the newly uploaded courses, materials, and workshops
* Recognize and resolve the issues that may appear when it comes to course design, its configuration or infrastructure
* Make sure that the LMS works properly and act fast if it comes to bugs and unexpected errors
* Generate routine monitoring and evaluation reports relating to training completion, user feedback, registration demographics, and other metrics.
