How you’ll make an impact:
This position will lead program roadmap management for the SiriusXM Broadcast Engineering division. Broadcast Engineering is responsible for delivery of SXM’s flagship audio service, via satellite and the SiriusXM streaming app. This is an opportunity to influence the direction of enterprise-level content distribution systems and help build & lead a team of world-class professionals. This position requires a mix of Systems Engineering and Program Management background/skills, as the selected candidate will help drive systems architecture, data-driven decision making and provide project leadership. May be called upon to personally lead key projects to successful completion. Strong analytical and communications skills are keys to success in this role.
What you’ll do:

Lead and grow an efficient and high performing systems engineering & program management organization focused on developing best-in-class media entertainment experiences

Develop and foster an inclusive culture for all of our team members

Work closely with the engineering leaders whose teams your people support

Attract and retain the high-caliber SE/PM talent needed to deliver against SiriusXM’s Broadcast Engineering Roadmap through high-performance, on-time and on-budget development programs

Help with the definition and enforcement of our software development process

Work closely with your operational partners from other organizations to ensure our SDLC is constantly being improved

Ensure system documentation is generated and maintained across the various systems and system components, to include architecture documents, Operations concepts, requirements, designs, interface control, test plans, transition plans and others

Perform Technical feasibility, design, and trade-off analysis

Work closely with your partners in Product Management and Programming to ensure engineering roadmaps are constantly maintained and well communicated

What you’ll need:
-
Minimum Bachelor level degree in electrical engineering, information systems or systems engineering from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience. Masters level degree in engineering preferred.

Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
-
A minimum of 10 years of experience in software and hardware systems lifecycles, at least 5 of which should be in a leadership/supervisory role.
-
Experience working in a 24 X 7, critical operations environment desired.

Experience in broadcasting, streaming services and/or media engineering is a plus.

Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

Functional knowledge of MS Visio, MS Project, Jama, Jira, Confluence and Slack.

Knowledge of hardware architecture components including servers, networking components, architectures, and related techniques.

Knowledge of software architecture and best practices.

Good understanding of networking including TCP/IP protocol, routing, and firewall operations.

Familiarity with Windows and Linux-based computer systems, C++, MySQL, JAVA, and windows-based computer programs.

Good public speaking and presentation skills.

Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.

At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $137,700 to $169,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
