We are looking for a vibrant OT 1 to join our ophthalmology practice group in Westwood. They will provide patient care, technical support, and administrative support to the clinic.
Patient care and technical duties include: recording patient ocular history, obtaining visual acuity, autorefractometry, lensometry, tonometry, pupillary defect evaluation, confrontational field testing, OCTs, OCTAs, Visual Fields, administration of eye drops for pupil dilation with topical anesthesia, assisting with minor procedures, and preparing instruments for sterilization
Administrative duties include: clinic preparation, appointment scheduling, answering phones, coordinate RX refill authorizations, and ordering supplies/medications.
This is a temporary position scheduled to end 6 months from hire date. May convert to Career.
Salary Range: $32.06-42.29 Hourly
Required:
* Knowledge of ophthalmic medical terminology anatomy, physiology as well as disease of the eye and systemic disease that affect the eye.
* Knowledge of ophthalmic medications and the proper instillation of these into the eye.
* Knowledge of ophthalmic equipment and instrument sterilization techniques.Skill in acquiring accurate medical history, measuring and recording visual acuity, and tonometry.
* Ability to use ophthalmic equipment such as tonopen, slit lamp, VA monitor, auto-refractor, chair and applanation tonometer.
* Ability to learn state of the art diagnostic equipment.
* Ability to organize and prioritize duties to maximize efficiency.
* Ability to work under pressure over a busy workload.
* Have interpersonal skills to maintain comfortable and cooperative working relationships with physicians, patients and co-workers.
* Ability to work as a team member in a busy practice; superb organization skills.
* Ability to work with Microsoft Word and Excel software.
* Must be able to work with regular, planned hours and days of the week based on the clinical needs of the service.
