Position Highlights | The Mosher laboratory is seeking two new team members to join us in revealing the genomic and developmental consequences of small RNA directed DNA methylation (RdDM) during seed development. We use multiple plant systems in the Brassicacaeae family, including Arabidopsis, Brassica, and Capsella, and we utilize a variety of molecular and sequence-based approaches to analyze small RNAs and DNA methylation. Our goal is to understand how small RNAs establish epigenomic patterns during sexual reproduction, including interactions between parental and zygotic cells. As a diverse and international group of scientists, we value research integrity, personal and professional development, and a healthy work-life balance. To foster in our community, we encourage applicants from diverse perspectives and backgrounds to apply. We are seeking two postdoctoral researchers to lead projects investigating how the evolution of self-fertilization impacts genome and epigenome variation. We will analyze Capsella species representing multiple independent transitions to selfing to identify common (epi)genomic features associated with this mating system transition. This work is part of a collaboration with Dr. Andrea Sweigart’s lab at the University of Georgia who are investigating how selfing influences (epi)genomes in Mimulus species, and the two laboratories will cooperate to enhance our findings. Outstanding UA benefits include health, dental, vision, and life insurance; paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays; UA/ASU/NAU tuition reduction for the employee and qualified family members; access to UA recreation and cultural activities; and more! The University of Arizona has been recognized for our innovative work-life programs. For more information about working at the University of Arizona and relocations services, please . |
