The Institute for Computation and Data-Enabled Insight (ICDI) at The University of Arizona seeks an experienced events planner (Conference and Events Planner II) to facilitate, organize, staff, and coordinate a diverse portfolio of internal and external events, from planning and promotion through clean up and post-event evaluation. Reporting to ICDI’s Senior Director of Marketing, Communications and Engagement, the events planner serves a critical and prominent role in ICDI, as events are a key avenue to achieving our mission to engage with and convene campus and external communities. The event planner will engage with key stakeholders, coordinates all event, meeting, and conference logistics and operations for in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, and serves as on-site event staff. Duties include but are not limited to cost containment, venue scouting, equipment logistics, room setup, and on-brand, best practices. The position works as part of a small, collaborative and supportive integrated team in this relatively new institute. We seek a team member with experience in a relevant professional capacity who is enthusiastic about supporting ICDI. The candidate must be a flexible self-starter who is comfortable in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment. Additionally, the candidate must embody a service-oriented mindset and be willing to jump in whenever necessary.
