Performs complex professional and administrative work in assisting with the management of the human resources functions for the Town.
An employee in this class will assist the Human Resources Director in planning, directing, and
coordinating all functions of human resources programs that supports the Town’s commitment
of a healthy and inclusive workplace environment. This role will exercise significant authority to
make the most effective decisions regarding employee talent and performance in the workplace.
The Assistant Director’s primary area of focus will be to develop and implement the
organizations diversity initiatives and strategy to attract, hire, and maintain a diverse workplace
and continue to foster an inclusive workplace culture. This highly visible role will also work
alongside the Human Resources Director to assist daily administration of HR services, as well
as short- and long-term planning of human resource needs related to the Town’s strategic
plans and objectives.

Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in human resource management, public administration, business or related human service field and considerable experience of a progressively responsible nature in human resource management, including supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
