Preferred Qualifications:
Mathematical understanding of lab research topics such as 3D convolution, Bluespec System Verilog, C++, and Python, PyTorch and the Argus Framework for Accelerating CNNs on FPGAs.
Brief Description of Duties:
This project aid will be working in a lab whose research is to extend the Argus framework with the necessary functionality to efficiently execute the decoding stage of the Bicephalous Convolutional Autoencoder (BCAE) developed at the Brookhaven National Lab. The participant will provide lab/administrative support to lab occupants developing hardware template designs in the Bluespec hardware description language that will be used to generate FPGA hardware implementation of the BCAE layers, and integrate these templates and their models into the Argus Python-based optimization framework to support end-to-end automated generation of BCAE decoding on Xilinx FPGAs.
Positions are established to accomplish necessary routine work for the project often in coordination with on-the-job training for employees.
