The Ohio State University at Marion invites applications for two full-time tenure-track Assistant Professors in the College of Education
and Human Ecology, Department of Teaching and Learning, to begin Autumn Semester 2024. Candidates must have a strong commitment to and/or
evidence of excellence and accomplishment in both teaching and research, an earned doctorate, and 3 years of successful elementary or middle
school teaching experience (or equivalent). Tenure track faculty on the Marion campus hold appointments and are promoted and tenured in the
Department of Teaching and Learning. Ohio State Marion, one of the six campuses of The Ohio State University, has approximately 100
full-time and associated faculty and is located 45 miles north of Columbus.
For the Generalist of Elementary Education position, we
seek candidates who demonstrate a broad scope of knowledge within education and across content areas (particularly Science and/or Social
Studies) and who are able to apply teaching practices in diverse educational settings.
For the Children’s and Adolescent
Literacy and Literature position, we seek candidates with extensive knowledge of children’s and/or adolescent literature and expertise
in research-based literacy practices that meet the needs of diverse learners across educational settings.
The ideal candidates will
demonstrate a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity in education. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate education
courses; engaging in scholarship (position includes seed grant), research, and publication; engaging students in undergraduate research, and
providing service to the campus, university, and discipline.
