Chief Technology Officer – Private Equity funded D2C technology brand / ecommerce
Permanent role – London/Hybrid
We are looking for a technology leader to help push through the next phase of tech-driven growth for this Private Equity funded D2C technology brand. This is a role for someone who loves technology and is brave enough to lead and be in the thick of delivery with the Product & Tech teams. At a leadership level, they are ready to take their first step beyond a tech lead role.
We need a hands-on technology leader with passion and energy, who can deliver the product and technology aspect of the roadmap, developing and inspiring the tech team through this next 3-year rapid growth phase.
Key priorities will be to understand the development plans, ways of working and key metrics, evaluating the tech stack and identifying areas for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
Leadership responsibilities: We are looking for someone who:
● Plays a critical role in building & executing high-level company strategy & translating this into a Product & Technology programme that yields a progressive return on investment
● Inspires the culture and coaches/mentors the Product & Technology team
● Sets the culture & designs the team structure for maximum efficiency & learning
● Proactively strengthens the employer brand in the Product & Tech space
● Ensures legal & regulatory compliance & supports audit requirements
Departmental responsibilities: Lead & drive the Product, Technology & Engineering strategy across the business creating a category-leading ecommerce experience.
● Leads the team to translate the business roadmap into a goal-driven plan
● Oversees the efficient deployment of all Product & Tech resources, leading the team to design, create & monitor end to end implementation – hands on where necessary
● Builds investment cases for resource or new technology that will meaningfully contribute to the company’s growth
● Embeds a pragmatic scale up mindset whilst evolving current or implementing new systems
● Pragmatically secures technical integrity with a scale up mindset, creating & improving operational capabilities & infrastructure availability
● Trend spots to ensure the team are building modern, flexible solutions to customer problems
● Ensures platforms max out on search engine advantage
● Supports the teams in making optimisation, experimentation and confident analytics, both second nature and always on
● Emboldens the team to be analytically savvy but intuitively confident and to test & challenge with instinct where data or insight is not readily available
● Empowers customer centric, brand-defining decision making across Marketing, Product & Tech – leveraging user data, research & analytics to their full potential
Candidate Criteria:
● Minimum 3 years in a technology leadership role, spanning multiple teams, within a fast-growing B2C ecommerce business
● A strategic & inspiring leader of teams and trusted leadership colleague
● Proven experience at engaging, influencing and managing senior stakeholders
● Proven ability to motivate, challenge, build and grow product teams’ & technologists’ skills, creating & maintaining a diverse, happy and empowered team
● A track record of leading delivery – both products & modern solutions in a fast-paced, scaling organisation
● Naturally collaborative with experience in leveraging projects & delivering outcomes across Marketing, Product, Operations & Technology
● Acute data analytics skills, insight driven & commercially astute
● Extensive background in software engineering & delivery activities with a good understanding of agile & system architecture
● Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to nontechnical employees
● Competent & confident in managing technology budgets and resources
