Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRM-IO) as an Interoperability Engineer.
Minimum qualifications:
* 5+ years of professional work experience.
* Experience independently designing and developing new software products or major enhancements to existing software for a healthcare/clinical environment
* Ability to perform as highest-level technical expert, addressing problems of systems integration, compatibility, healthcare semantics, informatics and multiple platforms
* Experience seeing projects to completion
* Experience performing feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management
* Experience and knowledge with HealtheIntent
* Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare IT, computer science, electronics engineering, engineering or technical related field, or an additional 10 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements
Preferred qualifications:
* Experience in the VA
* Experience implementing Electronic Health Records
* Significant experience in network engineering (10+ years), with 5+ years on large scale systems
* Experience with Network Engineering and Internetworking
* Experience with enterprise network concepts (MPLS, prioritization, segmentation, load balancing, segmentation, continuity of operations)
* Experience with scalability analysis and modeling
* Experience with system (end-to-end) performance assessment and optimization
* Experience with VA and DOD legacy data, private sector data (Health Information Exchange) and Interoperability EHR Viewers
* Systems integration experience
* Root cause problem analysis and determination
